Equality for All is Equality for One

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

We echo MLK’s inspirational statement,

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

We believe that racial reconciliation and equality can be attained without rancor or prejudice against any other race. Equality for all is equality for one.

Our Story

The Bridge-the-Gap (BTG) Initiative is designed to bridge the racial gap in all sectors of public and private life in Alaska. The mission of the BTG Initiative is on the one hand, to interface with both the government and private sectors, to identify areas of racial inequality and take adequate steps to remedy such anomalies. On the other hand, to empower the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) community through capacity development to harness new opportunities.

Bridge the Gap Ambassadors are like minded people coming together to brainstorm and proffer positive, healthy ways to facilitate racial reconciliation and equality in Alaska. A few ambassadors from these meetings will make up a delegation of leaders who will meet directly with top government officials at various round table meetings throughout the year. Sign up today to become a BTG Ambassador and participate in future BTG Ambassador meetings.

To help us better meet the needs and address concerns of the African American community, we’d like to hear from you.  Please take a few minutes and share your thoughts, experiences and ideas with us by completing the survey below. We will have your responses in mind for our next Bridge the Gap Ambassador meeting.
