Mayor Dave Bronson and the municipality of Anchorage have made solving the homelessness crisis a major priority. However, the MUNI cannot solve all the problems alone. Therefore, RACS is collaborating with the MUNI to help provide housing for homeless seniors and veterans.
RACS recognizes the needs of the elderly vulnerable population. Hence, RACS Senior Housing Program (Comfort Homes) prioritizes and helps seniors by providing permanent housing and basic navigation services as a direct steppingstone to affordable housing.
Also, RACS has observed that a high percentage of repeated homeless shelter guests in Anchorage have served at one point or another in our distinguished Armed Forces. At the completion of the repurposing of the buildings that once served as temporary housing for our active-duty warriors, RACS plans to give priority to homeless veterans who gallantly defended our nation now that they desperately need us.

The RACS homeless program is driven by empathy and compassion. Homelessness is most often caused by issues related to losing one's job, not having enough sustainable income or the deterioration of relationships. Together, we can help reduce the extreme hardship of not having a roof over one’s head for many homeless people in Alaska.
Although RACS seeks to help all homeless individuals, our niche is the group who are strongly motivated to return to active independent functionality. These homeless neighbors need a support network that will help them bounce back into participating as active citizens who are able to pay for their food, clothing, and housing on their own.
